Terms of Service
AzComputing Limited · Parquet Viewer · Last updated July 13, 2026
These terms are a legally binding agreement between you and AzComputing Limited that governs your use of Parquet Viewer. Please read them — they're important. We've tried to keep them clear, and we welcome questions or suggestions through our contact page. We've also made these terms available under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, so you're free to adapt them for your own projects.
1. Definitions
To keep this short: the "Service" means the Parquet Viewer web app, the Parquet Viewer macOS app, and the parquet-viewer.com website. "We," "us," and "our" mean AzComputing Limited. "You" means anyone who uses the Service. "Your files" means the data files you open or process with the Service — which stay on your own device, as described below.
2. Accepting these terms
By using the Service, you agree to these terms. You do not need to register or create an account to use Parquet Viewer. If we make material changes to these terms, we'll post the updated version on this page and revise the "last updated" date above; by continuing to use the Service after that, you accept the changes. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
3. What the Service is
Parquet Viewer is a tool for opening and exploring data files on your own device. When you open a file, it is read and processed locally — in your browser using WebAssembly on the web, or by the app on macOS. We do not host, store, receive, or have access to the contents of your files. The one optional exception is the AI assistant, described below and in our Privacy Policy, which sends a description of your table's columns — never the data itself — in order to generate a query for you.
4. The AI assistant
The Service includes an optional AI assistant that turns natural-language questions into SQL queries. The AI is powered by a third-party model and can be wrong: a generated query may be inaccurate, inefficient, or not do what you intended. You are responsible for reviewing any query before you run it, and for its results. AI use is subject to rate limits and fair use, and you agree not to attempt to circumvent those limits or to use the feature to abuse the underlying provider. For details on exactly what is and isn't sent when you use the AI, see our Privacy Policy.
5. Acceptable use
Parquet Viewer is a tool you run for yourself, so the rules are short. You agree not to:
- use the Service to violate any law, or to process or distribute material you do not have the right to use;
- attack, overload, probe, or otherwise interfere with the Service or the servers and networks behind it, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to them;
- attempt to circumvent rate limits, access controls, or restrictions on paid features;
- copy the Service to build a competing product, or reverse-engineer it except to the extent the law expressly permits.
You are responsible for your use of the Service and for the files you choose to open with it. If you use the Service in a way that breaks these rules, we may limit or block your access to it.
6. Eligibility
You must be at least thirteen years old to use the Service. By using it, you represent that you are able to form a binding agreement with us.
7. Intellectual property
The Service — including the Parquet Viewer apps, the website, their design, and the materials we own — together with the "Parquet Viewer" name and the Parquet Viewer logo are owned by AzComputing Limited and protected by applicable laws. You may not use our name, logo, or content without our prior written permission.
Your files remain entirely yours. Because they stay on your device and we never receive them, we acquire no rights in your files or their contents.
8. Paid features
Parquet Viewer is free to use, with some optional paid features. The macOS app offers an optional subscription purchased and managed through the Apple App Store; those purchases, renewals, and refunds are handled by Apple and governed by Apple's terms. On the web, Pro is sold as a one-time payment for either a day pass valid for 24 hours or a license valid for one year from activation. Neither product renews automatically. Web payments are processed by Stripe. Keep your license key secure: it is the credential used to activate your purchase in another browser. Free use of the AI assistant is subject to the rate limits described above. We may change which features are free or paid over time.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
We will strive to keep the Service running and to be good stewards of the limited information that reaches us. However, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including without limitation any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, or that it will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error free, or that any defects will be corrected. You use the Service — and rely on any output it produces, including AI-generated queries — at your own discretion and risk.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, and except where prohibited, under no circumstances — including, without limitation, negligence — shall we be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from (1) the use of or the inability to use the Service; (2) the cost of procurement of substitute goods or services; (3) unauthorized access to or alteration of your data; or (4) loss of profits, use, data, or other intangibles — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AzComputing Limited and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any and all claims and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of your use of the Service or your violation of these terms. We may, at our sole discretion, assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate with us.
12. Changes to and availability of the Service
We may change, suspend, or discontinue the Service, or any feature or portion of it, at any time and at our sole discretion, and there is no guarantee that the Service or any particular feature will remain available for any period of time. You can stop using Parquet Viewer at any time — on the web, just close it; on macOS, you can uninstall the app. There is no account to close.
13. General
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, it will be severed and replaced with an enforceable provision that most closely reflects its intent, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these terms without our prior written consent; we may assign ours. Any claim or cause of action arising out of your use of the Service must be brought within one year after it arises, or it is permanently barred. These terms set forth the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service and supersede any prior communications, agreements, and proposals on the subject.
